Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (28 March 1986), better known as Lady Gaga, is an American singer, songwriter, actress and pianist. She broke through worldwide in 2009 with the singles Just Dance and Poker Face, which became number 1 hits in many countries. Afterwards, she also scored mega hits with songs like Paparazzi (2009), Bad Romance (2009), Telephone (2010), Alejandro (2010), Born This Way (2011), Applause (2013) and Shallow (2018).
Gaga has won several Grammy Awards, including in 2010 for her debut album The Fame (Best Dance Album) and in 2011 for her album The Fame Monster (Best Pop Vocal Album). Her song Poker Face, which was the best-selling single worldwide in 2009, was awarded a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. Poker Face (13 million copies sold) and Bad Romance (12 million copies sold) are among the best-selling singles of all time.
Lady Gaga derived her stage name from the song Radio Ga Ga by the British rock band Queen.
Top 2000
Two songs from The Fame entered the year-end list of the Dutch Top 2000 in 2011: Poker Face (704) and Paparazzi (1281). Also, two songs from The Fame Monster were listed in the same year's year-end Top 2000 list, Bad Romance (676) and Alejandro (981). In 2018, Shallow from the soundtrack of A Star is Born entered the Top 2000 at position 736. In 2019, this song even rose to position 45, which remains her highest ranking in the Top 2000 to date. That same year, Always Remember Us This Way from the same album entered at position 1430.
