Rondé was formed in the spring of 2014 from a school assignment at the Herman Brood Academy. In April, the band took part in "Herman Brood Academy on Tour," a short tour of various Dutch pop venues. In September 2014, the group participated as OOR Talent in the Popronde.
In October 2014, Rondé's single Run became a Megahit on NPO 3FM, and the group was named 3FM Serious Talent. After performing at Eurosonic Noorderslag in 2015, singer Rikki Borgelt underwent surgery on her vocal cords. In April, the band won the 3FM Serious Talent Award, and a few days later, We Are One became Rondé's second Megahit on NPO 3FM. On 13 January 2017, their self-titled debut album Rondé was released. On 8 March 2019, the second album, titled Flourish, came out. The album Flourish contains twelve tracks, including the NPO 3FM Megahit and NPO Radio 2 TopSong Calling. On 4 August 2019, they supported James Bay. On Saturday 7 September 2019, Rondé performed at the Live on the Beach festival in Scheveningen, where bands like Keane also appeared.
In 2020, the single Get to You was released, and a year later, Hard to Say Goodbye followed, which in August 2021 was awarded the Harde Schijf and Favourite Track by Radio 538. This single reached various charts and held the number 1 position in both the public chart Mega Top 30 on NPO 3FM and the "100%NL Top 20."
On 5 April 2022, Rondé performed at the Ziggo Dome with Bastille. On Saturday evening 10 December that year, Rondé appeared on the television programme Even tot hier by BNNVARA on NPO 1, where they performed the song Zo gaat dat dus altijd live. A parody about recent political policy, set to the music of their hit single Hard to Say Goodbye.
On 17 June 2023, Rondé performed at Pinkpop for the first time, 16 years after singer Rikki Borgelt's first visit there.

In the 23rd edition of the Top 2000, Rondé is at position 881 with "Hard to Say Goodbye."
Sunday Morning Classic
On Sunday 15 October 2023, it was Rondé's turn to take the Sunday Morning Classic stage with their debut album "Rondé" from 2017.
The album contains thirteen mostly light-hearted tracks. The band Rondé has already proven to have a knack for catchy (radio) tracks. Several of the band's songs have regularly appeared on the playlists of various radio stations. Rondé distinguishes itself alongside the catchy sound by the distinctive voice of singer Rikki Borgelt, who gives each song a ‘Rondé’ character.
The album kicks off immediately with Why Do You Care. A nice, light, and catchy song with a high sing-along factor. The song is built on a fine foundation of bass and drums, complemented by a touch of guitar sound. The light sound is also maintained on City Lights, which is less gripping than the opener Why Do You Care. However, the band quickly picks up the pace again with the strong Go. A song that builds beautifully from a quiet start to a nice guitar piece at the end. Typical for the album Rondé is the variation between stronger and less strong songs. Towards the middle of the album, a mixed feeling sometimes arises. Certain sounds in songs sometimes seem very similar, creating a feeling of ‘haven't I heard this before’. On the other hand, there are very strong tracks, including the most recent single Naturally, a song in which more indie pop-rock sounds come to the fore.
