American duo, consisting of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield, who scored two Top 10 hits in 1965 with 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling'. In 1988, 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling' returned to the Top 10. The Righteous Brothers topped the Dutch charts at the end of 1990 with 'Unchained Melody', a musical contribution to the Demi Moore film Ghost.
Bobby 'Blonde Bomber' Hatfield and Bill Medley founded the Righteous Brothers in 1962. Their debut single 'You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling' was an immediate hit. In the following years, they scored worldwide hits with songs like 'Unchained Melody' and 'Soul Inspiration'.

In 1968 the duo split up. Six years later, they decided to perform together again. In 1990, 'Unchained Melody' became a hit once more thanks to Ghost, a film starring Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore. Bobby Hatfield was found dead in November 2003 in a hotel room in Kalamazoo (America).
Bill Medley still performs today and toured in 2023 with Bucky Heard in the US as part of the Righteous Brothers tour.

Sunday Morning Classic
On Sunday 24 September 2023, The Righteous Brothers took to our Sunday Morning Classic stage with what we consider their best album: You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin' from the birth year of this record boss, 1965.
'You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling' is The Righteous Brothers' first claim to fame in our country. The single was in the Top 10 of the Top 40 in the spring of 1965. The couple Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil wrote this song at the request of Phil Spector. It was inspired by ‘Baby I Need Your Loving’ by The Four Tops. The vocals of Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield are simply phenomenal. Their voices complement each other in a way that is rare in the music world. The depth and range of their vocals elevate this song to unprecedented heights.
Everyone involved remembered that the recording took ages – and when they played the song back, it went on forever, an epic four minutes that far exceeded the 180 seconds or so that most pop singles of the day were limited to. However, Spector did not want to edit "You've Lost That Loving Feeling". What he was willing to do was reverse the last two digits of the actual length of the song and give radio DJs the longest 3.05 of their lives. It apparently took a few weeks for many programme directors to realise why their tightly scheduled shows suddenly overran, but by then "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" had already ground its way into consciousness. It was not cut, it could not be cut, and on 6 February 1965 "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" officially became the longest record ever to top the Billboard chart.
The other typical 1960s tracks (covers) on the album are fun and quite pleasant to listen to, but did not make the charts at the time. Nevertheless, because of the title track, we chose to give this album the title Sunday Morning Classic.
