For a cosy evening with Zeeland folk music, you don't have to look far. Just around the corner from De Platenbar you'll find the musicians Van Talud.
Van Talud
Van Talud was born in 2017 in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, named after the sloping side of a dyke or embankment. A word of French origin, that much is true. But also a name we think sticks and conjures images. We try to capture those images in our music as well.
For those who like to have a clear style to hold on to, you can comfortably place Van Talud under the umbrella of 'Zeeland folk'. Despite and also thanks to the various musical styles, the Zeeland influence is never far away. Music with feet in the clay and head in the clouds.
The new album ‘Verweerd’ was presented on 25 February 2018 at Porgy en Bess, Terneuzen. The album is a mix of Folk, Blues and Pop. The songs are in Dutch and deal with love, life and sorrow. The songs can safely be called 'listening songs'. The band consists of:
